Account Deduplication
Product overview
Fourthline's Account Deduplication is a specific use case of face search that prevents the same client to create multiple accounts with a single Business Partner, by comparing their face against all previously successful onboarding cases within that Business Partner's database.
It is designed to help detect duplicate accounts by identifying previously onboarded clients, and to enhance fraud and AML controls without increasing friction for genuine clients.
Account Deduplication
How it works
Account Deduplication screens new verification attempts against identities that have previously been verified within the Business Partner's database, as follows:

A selfie image is captured during identity verification.

The system generates a face embedding.

The embedding is compared against previously verified identities in the Business Partner’s database.

If one or more potential matches exceed the configured similarity threshold, they are submitted for manual review.

A human agent reviews each potential match using identity attributes such as:
- Name
- Date of birth
- Document number

The reviewer confirms whether the match corresponds to a previously flagged identity or is a false positive.

The screening result is recorded in the CDD report.

Screening results
When the system detects a client's face and finds potential matches, a human agent manually reviews each match. The final outcome is stored for the CDD report in a clear, consistent, and audit-ready format.
Each screening produces a definitive result, including a timestamp and, where applicable, references to related verification IDs.
