Selfie Liveness
Product overview
Selfie Liveness verifies that clients are real and physically present, prompting them to turn their head left and right while capturing a short video to confirm liveness and detect spoofing attempts such as masks or video replays.
Our liveness detection solution is certified as iBeta Level 2 compliant, in line with the ISO/IEC 30107-3 standard for presentation attack detection (PAD). This means it can reliably detect and prevent advanced spoofing attacks (including 3D masks, high-resolution video replays, and silicone models) with a spoof success rate of less than 1%.
This level of compliance ensures that our solution meets the security expectations of regulated industries and provides robust protection against identity fraud.
How it works
- The client is prompted to turn their head left and right to confirm they a living human being who is physically present.
- Fourthline captures this short video to verify liveness and detect any signs of spoofing, such as masks or video replays.
Note
Clients generally do not know that we record video because this helps us detect fraud.

Fourthline performs the following checks:

| Authenticity | The selfie video is authentic and shows a live client who is voluntarily participating. We automatically check that: • It is not a spoofed video. • It is not a video of a video. • The client moves their head sufficiently. • The client isn’t wearing a physical or digital mask. | |
